This summer we will return with even more camp offerings than years past, with a total of 15 weeks of bike camps being offered as part of the Presidio YMCA Camp.  We will be running two types of camps, one more geared towards road riding and the other focused on off-road mountain biking.

Today we rode up out of the Presidio via Julius Kahn Playground, then headed over to Golden Gate Park to ride some of the sweet trails by the Polo Field.

Today we practiced our skills in the schoolyard at Marina Middle School.  Dan from SF Urban Riders set up a great obstacle course for us to play on!

Today we kicked off week four of bike camp after a long Fourth-of-July weekend.  Lilli and myself lead our 6th-8th crew around the Presidio, down Crissy Field, up to Battery Marcus Miller and, after lunch, to the Presidio Trust and The For Site Foundation's Presidio Habitats, a site-based art exhibition based on the habitat of wildlife native to the Presidio.  Here they are with CEBRA's Sculptural Habitat for the Grey Fox.

Today, Bike Camp took an adventurous ride around the Presidio past the Golden Gate Bridge and through the Richmond to Golden Gate Park! Students enjoyed lunch near Speedway Meadow, and an exciting afternoon at Children's Playground. Above, campers stopped to inspect some freshly caught striped bass on Chrissy Field, and to pose for pictures next to tomorrow's goal -- the Golden Gate!
