My First Week of Bike Camp

TAGS

I walked into the YMCA after 4th of July weekend excited and with butterflies fluttering in my stomach to start my first week of Bicycle Camp. It was awesome. Our campers were experienced bicyclists, most of whom had been to bike camp or to one of our bicycle after-school programs before so Ted and I were extra enthused to get started, make our group agreements and go on our first ride in the Presidio!  Throughout the week we had great adventures: Ted led us on a bicycle tour of Habitats, a site-specific art exhibit that is placed in the Presidio, on our second day we rode all the way to the baseball stadium in China Basin through the Embarcadero, on Thursday we rode across the Golden Gate Bridge and into Sausalito, and on our final day of Bike Camp we joined forces with Matt and Tanya’s mountain bike camp and went on a field trip to China Camp in the Marin Headlands. There we got to go on a few mountain bike rides that were challenging, fun, and beautiful! Check out the awesome video Matt put together for the day by clicking HERE.

I had a blast this first week at camp. Thank you to all of you wonderful campers, Ted, Tanya, Matt, Mark, Dan from SF Urban Riders and Zach!
